On March 19, 1961, a meeting was held at the home of Blois and Reta Boyd, and the Nova Scotia German Shepherd Dog Club (NSGSDC) was founded. Thanks to the support of people like you, the NSGSDC is still going strong, and this year we are celebrating our 50th year of existence! We would like to take this time to invite you to participate in our upcoming specialty shows and/or obedience and rally obedience trials. Judges for this year's shows are Frank Tate, Susan Godek and Michel Chaloux. We are excited to have Delvyn Lunn judging our obedience and rally obedience trials. And while you're at the show, make sure you stop by the canteen and try Helen's strawberry shortcake!!! We would also encourage you to attend our After Show Dinner on Saturday, July 2. This is an excellent opportunity for exhibitors and spectators alike to get together to discuss the day’s events, but this year it will also serve as an opportunity to share stories from years gone by with both new and old acquaintances.

At our very first schutzhund trial judged by Doug Deacon, the bitches both added BH titles to their names!
Isis who only just started Schutzhund training that month, passed her tracking and obedience for a Sch1 but my hander error(s) sent us off the field before she had a chance to show off her protection work...
We are hooked on Schutzhund and will be training for next year with all of the youngsters!!

Adelaar & I went High In Trial at the Cobequid Kennel Dog show for the last leg of her CD (with a score of 196)
Registration for our next novice obedience course TBA. We must have a minumum number of people to offer a course, contact us to be added to the list and we will notify you of the start date. Please refer to our training page for more details about this particular course.
Adelaar & I have been showing in Ontario and she is getting many great reviews, including a BOB and several Winner's Bitch in conformation, she's now at 8pnts toward her Ch. We accomplished the first two legs of her CD, both with a High In Class!! She also passed her CGN test (Canine Good Neighbor)
